Kids on the Ridge FM Live

At Selwyn Ridge we offer the children an opportunity to work in a fully functional radio station. The children apply at the beginning of the year for the role of DJ or technician. The children then work in teams of three to create a daily show. Each team is responsible for planning their show for their particular day.

We broadcast on 106.7 FM using a low frequency transmitter. This allows classrooms and the community within a 5-10km radius to tune in and hear our daily shows.

The children undergo a full training at the beginning of the year though most of the experience is gained 'on the job'. Daily shows include music, current events, birthdays, competitions and school notices.
