At our celebration hui this morning, the tamariki from Room 10 shared their insights on Te Whare Tapa Whā. They did a fantastic job explaining how this model supports their wellbeing, helping them stay happy, healthy, and strong. A big thank you to Room 10, ka rawe!
We’d like to acknowledge Bri Flexman, who recently graduated with her Bachelor of Teaching from the University of Waikato. We are incredibly proud to have Bri as part of our teaching team and leading the way in Room 12. Completing a degree is no small feat, it reflects 3 years of hard mahi, dedication and a true passion for education. Seeing Bri officially graduate is a proud moment for our whole school community. Congratulations, Bri.
A special congratulations to Avannah who competed at the Western Bay of Plenty Swimming Championships. The event showcases elite junior talent from the top finishes at local school and cluster competitions. Avannah was awarded 1st place in Year 5 girls 25m Backstroke, 2nd place in the Championship 100m freestyle relay & 3rd place in the Year 5 girls 50m Backstroke - incredible achievements Avannah, we are super proud of you.
Term 2 is off to a flying start! We had a wonderful time celebrating our learners at today’s assembly with our team awards. It was fantastic to see the variety of mahi happening across the school and the pride our students take in their achievements. We loved watching Room 11’s movie about their fantastic visit to The Good Farm. It was wonderful to see their adventures come to life, complemented by some punchy, powerful writing from Mia, Harteg, Joy, and Rhy. Room 10 shared their insightful learning around Te Whare Tapa Whā, focusing on how we can support our bodies to stay healthy by strengthening the pou of taha tinana. It was a great reminder for all of us to look after our physical well-being. Payton and Madison from Room 8 stood tall to share their pepeha with us - ka mau te wehi! We were also treated to some awesome art from Room 12. What a brilliant way to wrap up the week!
Our STAR group are awesome. Get involved 👍
Kia ora whānau We hope you’ve had a refreshing break! We are so excited to welcome our tamariki back for the start of Term 2 this Monday. Every day counts, and starting the day on time helps our tamariki settle in and get the most out of their learning. We can’t wait to hear all about their holiday adventures! Kia pai tō wikimutu — have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see you all on Monday at 8:30am!
A huge congratulations to our lucky winners of the STAR Group Easter Raffle, drawn live at our end of term assembly. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser, your generosity helped the STAR group raise $826. We loved the excitement of the live draw and seeing the smiles on our winners’ faces! Thank you to our STAR group for all your mahi in organising this fun raffle.
On the last day of Term 1, we celebrated a truly special teacher, Scott Feisst, who has been a much loved part of the SRP whānau for 16 years 💙 Throughout his time at kura, Mr Feisst has made a lasting impact on so many of our tamariki. From leading our school to Top Schools success year after year, to his caring, thoughtful approach in the classroom, he has always put children at the heart of everything he does. He’s always been a strong advocate for nurturing the wellbeing of our learners. In true SRP style, we farewelled him with a special assembly. To honour Mr Feisst, we all kicked off our shoes (just the way he likes it!) and shared a memorable moment together. Our kapa haka, led beautifully by Tate, was especially moving and a highlight of the celebration. Scott, thank you for everything you have given to our school and community. You will be hugely missed, but we are so excited for you as you head into your next adventure. Ngā mihi nui and all the very best from us all.
